It’s been a tough year, but we’re finally nearing the end of 2020. A year of finding our feet with remote working, two national lockdowns and the birth (and death, hopefully) of the Zoom Family Quiz. As we’re seeing out December, we wanted to share a Good News Post before Christmas and celebrate some of the biggest success stories that have come out of EngageTech this year, all achieved during COVID: The promotion of our six new Project Leads. These guys were hired, onboarded or had at least spent most of their development, during lockdown, so a promotion in this short time is no mean feat.

Facts: Iona is a member of the coveted 20 club (that’s 20 meetings booked in one month), and is the highest performing member of the so-called COVID onboarding group. She’s also been working closely with new callers on her campaign to give expert advice, and be an always on hand buddy to some new starters.
Profile: Before EngageTech, Iona worked in Ibiza for a couple of seasons before moving into a role in Private Healthcare. She joined the team here in March, kickstarting her career in sales and has never looked back!
Iona says: “My favorite EngageTech moment has to be putting up my first qualified meeting! After starting in March and only having seven days in the office, to then working and learning remotely – it was tough. But after a long five weeks the wait was made worthwhile with everyone’s messages, efforts and continuous support”.

Facts: Scarlett secured a resign on a campaign that EngageTech had no prior experience in delivering on, and the feedback on her meetings is always top draw.
Profile: Running ops from our Torquay office (remotely, at her house!), Scarlett’s EngageTech career has all been from home on the coast, and it’s been a success. Prior to joining us she had worked as a Sales Exec in Investment Property Sales in Spain, and in Business Development for a compliance company.
Scarlett says: “The best moment so far has to be meeting everyone in person for the first time – something we may have taken for granted pre-2020. Like many others, I had been working remotely for a couple of months, obviously video chatting with people daily but had never properly met them in person! We spent the day training with management and it gave me a good opportunity to get to know everyone, which has definitely helped further down the line with team changes etc”.
“Another good moment was booking my first meeting through LinkedIn. It wasn’t really being done much by Delivery at the time, everything was more focused on calling and emailing, but since then it’s definitely become another avenue for prospecting and booking meetings!”.

Facts: Nikita has a 100% attendance rate for her meetings – top quality qualification and meeting management. She’s even made it onto her clients website, and has offered such a good service they have referred EngageTech to run a campaign for another tech company, which we kick off with in 2021.
Profile: Nikita started her career as an Optometrist after graduating from Cardiff University, before moving into a career in Sales at a Cyber Security and Risk Intelligence company. She joined EngageTech in July, mid-lockdown so was onboarded fully remotely, as well as training and development delivered on video calls. That didn’t stop her cementing herself as a key member of the Delivery team early on.
Nikita says: “One of the best things about working at EngageTech were the comments and applause in our #general Slack channel from everybody after I booked my first meeting, especially needed when working remotely. Also, of course, finally getting a chance to meet everyone in person when restrictions were eased post the first COVID wave”.

Facts: Alfie is one of EngageTech’s most consistent performers, and has one of the highest number of booked in development, with a huge 31 meetings. He’s also been heavily involved more recently with Marketing and Social Media at EngageTech alongside his day job.
Profile: Alfie actually joined EngageTech in July 2019 on an internship for three months whilst studying for his Master’s Degree in Digital Marketing. Once he graduated, Alfie had a triumphant return to the delivery team in August of this year – it’s like he never left!
Alfie says: “Some of the best memories made so far are from the first times back in the office, having been away at university for a year, it was great to come back and see all the old faces, and some new ones”.

Facts: Matt has booked an impressive 97 new lead generation meetings booked on his campaign for our client. He’s also played an integral part in the development of the culture his team are trying to create.
Profile: Affectionately known across the office as Robbo. Like many of ours in Delivery, Matt was a sports coach for many years up in Edinburgh, as well as working as an Events Supervisor. He joined us at the start of the year just before COVID hit, and quickly embedded himself as a mainstay of the EngageTech office culture.
Matt says: “Pre-lockdown I very much enjoyed causal Fridays, coming into the office and enjoying some of the questionable outfit choices from the team…
But on a serious note, I loved coming back into the office after several months of lockdown, seeing familiar faces and just having some of the office vibe back was great”.

Facts: Georgia achieved her Project Lead promotion in 6 months, smashing through her development and beyond with ease. She quickly hit all her KPI targets for her client, and has built a great relationship for them to re-sign for 2021. She’s also played a huge role in the development of other development staff working alongside Ben to support day to day.
Profile: Originally from Australia, Georgia graduated in 2018 and moved to London the following year. Prior to her role with us, she worked at a media company as an Account Executive opening the door to her sales career and joining us in the Summer of 2020.
Georgia says: “It was so great to finally go in to the office and be able to meet everyone in person. Being a part of the first group to be onboarded remotely, it was both exciting and nerve wracking to finally meet the people I had become so close with over those first couple of weeks!
Most recently it’s been great to hear that my original campaign with London Systems has just closed some business on a meeting that I set up. After the original call we sometimes don’t get to see much of the sales process, so to find out that a deal closed off the back of a call we make is really rewarding!”.
